RA Science Fair Grades K-3
We are very excited to announce the K-3rd Grade Virtual Science Fair!
Instead of a project board, students will do a Google Slide Presentation and will be given a 15 minute interview time slot to share their work on the Science Fair Day!
K-3rd grade students are invited to sign up for the Spring science fair on Saturday, April 17th. Please fill out the below google form to register your child by Friday, March 26th.

Science Fair Grades 4-12:
This year, the 4th-12th grade science fairs will be Virtual!
Students will be creating their boards through Google Slides, will have 5 minutes interview slots with the judges, and will have the opportunity to move onto the Chester County Regional Research Science Fair. Regionals offer a lot of scholarship opportunities, as well as a great experience to be able to see what students from all over the county are creating.
Please read through the information below if your child is interested.
4th-12th Grade Science Fair Due Dates:
- RA Science Fair Entry Form due by Tuesday, December 22nd.
- Paperwork: Form1, Form 1A (with Research Plan), Form 1B due by Friday, January 8th.
- Abstract, Log Book, and Google Slides due by Friday, January 15th.
- Interview Time Slots on Saturday morning, January 16th (Through Google Meets between 9-12am) Interview sign ups will be (individually) sent out in January.
- Awards will be announced the following week
Paperwork submitted from the School Coordinator is due the following week so please make sure you triple check your paperwork before submitting.

Required Paperwork:
- Checklist for Adult Sponsor (Form 1)* (If you are working as a team, the adult sponsor should be the same for all team members.)
- Student Checklist/Research Plan (Form 1A)*
- Approval Form (Form 1B)*
- Abstract - Done on your own - no link available. Typed and submitted as a separate document. Details:
- Written in a narrative after project is completed
- Include purpose (why), procedure (how), and the data/conclusions (what)
- Maximum 250 characters
- Research plan - Done on your own - no link available. Typed and submitted as a separate document (along with Form A1). Details:
- Question/Purpose
- Hypothesis
- Detailed Methodology, Materials, and Procedure
- Data Analysis
- Bibliography
- Log Book: Must keep an electronic log book while doing the experiment. Make sure to keep the dates in there with their observations too. Example of what to enter in log books
- Only If Applicable:
- Form 3* - Only if you are doing something when there is a risk analysis (using chemicals etc.).
- Form 4* - Only if you are doing your project with humans (Example: Getting opinions, filling out a survey, collecting data, etc.)

General Science Fair Reminders:
- No projects are allowed where involving growing mold or using animals for any reason (even if it's to see a food preference).
- Dates are extremely important when filling out the forms. Please make sure that the dates listed on your forms are before the start date of your experiment.
Virtual Science Fair Expectations:
- Students to create final submission in Google Slides.
- The idea is to mimic standard display board The audio component may be added to HS and MS for CCSRC.
- 12 slides max (except additional slides for required paperwork) to include the following:
- Project title (1)
- Abstract (1)
- Research Plan (1)
- Data sets/graphs (1-3)
- Images and Photos (1-4)
- Conclusions/Discussion (2)
- All projects would then be converted to PDF and submitted (for Regionals only).
How will judging go this year if we're virtual?
- Students will submit their project through Google Slides to the School Coordinator: [email protected] by Friday, January 15th.
- Students will then be given a 5 minutes interview time to meet with the judges on Saturday, January 16th.
- Awards will not be announced that day. They will be announced the following week.
- A similar process will also be followed for the Regional Fairs.
- The Top 5 from each grade will move onto the Regionals.
