Transportation

2023-2024 Transportation

It is time to submit your bus request for the 23-24 school year
(if your sending district provides transportation)

Please contact your sending district to ask for an ACT 372 form (scroll down for contact link)*.  This form must be completed to get busing for your student(s) for next school year. Please complete this by 6/15/23 so it doesn't get forgotten during your summer vacation time!
If you have any questions, please contact Kristy Grace, [email protected] / 610-983-4080, x501

*PLEASE NOTE: Norristown School District families are NOT required to submit an ACT 372 form for the 23-24 school year. NASD will contact you with a bus assignment in early August, no need to contact them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transportation is provided by the student's home school district (district contact information below) or by parents, through the car rider line (car rider line map below).
Students who attend RACS are not permitted to ride on any bus than the bus assigned by the school district of residence.

  • Busing is provided by the school district in which a student resides.*  Districts which currently bus to Renaissance include

    -Downingtown
    -Great Valley
    -Methacton
    -Norristown
    -Owen J. Roberts
    -Perkiomen Valley
    -Phoenixville
    -
    Pottsgrove
    -
    Spring-Ford
    -Tredyffrin/Easttown
    -Upper Merion
(if your district is not provided on this list then they do NOT offer transportation and the parent/guardian are responsible for drop off and pick up to and from RACS.  There are before and after school onsite options if needed.)

Please remember that all changes in transportation (from car to bus OR bus to car) requires a signed note from the parent.

Students are only permitted to ride on buses from the school district in which the student resides and riding a bus other than the one assigned requires prior approval by the busing district's transportation department.

Missed Bus Procedure

Occasionally a student misses a bus at dismissal time. If your child* misses the bus and it has departed from Renaissance, they will be escorted to the main office in the Upper School. School staff will call parents/guardians and any emergency contacts until a person is reached.

If no one can be reached via phone, voicemails will be left stating:
“Your child missed the bus and will remain in the main office with staff until 4:30pm.  After 4:30pm, any students** remaining on site will be escorted to Club RA, our aftercare program. If you arrive after 4:30pm, please call our main number, 610-983-4080 and Club RA's extension, 250. Club RA staff will direct where to pick up your child. Club RA staff is on site until 6pm on full school days.”

Please ensure your contact information is up to date and that you have emergency contacts listed for your child. To update this information, please contact our Student Information Manager, Ms. Andrea Blanton, at [email protected]. Or, log onto the Student Portal to make necessary updates.  Thank you.

*Most high school students will likely phone their parents/guardians themselves but the office staff will be happy to assist if needed.

**Kindergarten to 6th grade students will go to Club RA.  7th-12th grade students may wait onsite.

*Annual Transportation Forms (Act 372)

Most districts require their families to submit a busing form at the end of each school year.  Please contact the district's Transportation Departments directly to obtain the corresponding forms.  Without ACT372 forms completed and submitted to your home district they will not create a bus schedule for your child(ren).

**These forms are to be returned directly to the busing district. Please be sure to pay particular attention to the listed deadline to ensure your student has appropriate transportation when we return to school in August .
