It is important to note that anyone can get head lice... mainly through direct head-to-head contact but also from sharing hats, brushes and other personal items. Head lice are a problem in many communities and do not reflect poor hygiene or social status. Lice infestation is much easier to treat if caught early.
Please note that home remedies such as vinegar and mayonnaise are not considered effective treatments. Please consult with you physician or pharmacist for appropriate treatments. If you should discover a case of head lice, please notify the school health office.
Students with lice may return to school accompanied by an adult and return to classes once cleared by the school nurse. They are not permitted to ride the school bus until cleared by the school nurse.
