Program Description
Description of Club/Activity: Fitness and running program combined with lessons on excellence in character, confidence building, and healthy choices for boys. This program is run by the Brandywine Valley YMCA, facilitated here at RA by teachers and parents trained in the STRIDE curriculum.
STRIDE combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running race with healthy living education.

Dates and Times when club/activity meets:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5 pm - Season runs from March 11th - June 1st.
- End of Season 5K on June 1st, 9:00 am at New Garden Airport - Toughkenamon, PA
Location of meetings
- Bus loop or gym/indoors on days with extreme, inclement weather.
Cost/Fee
- $150 (Reduced fee available. To obtain financial assistance, bring your Free & Reduced Lunch Approval Letter to your local branch to register in person and receive a reduced registration rate. -OR- Visit your local branch to register in person and determine if you qualify for financial assistance.)
Registration*
- Registration will begin on February 11th, either in person at the YMCA, or online. (Register Online for STRIDE)
- *RA STRIDE program is limited to the first 15 participants
Parent Involvement
- Pick Up Location - Steps of the RA Main Entrance - Bus Loop at 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Parents need to provide transportation to the competition on June 1st.
