National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is an international student organization that consists of chapters in high schools. It is composed of students who excel in scholarship, character, leadership and service. Academically eligible students who meet the membership qualifications may be open to qualified students in grades eleven and twelve.

Dates and Times:

  • Invitations to apply will be sent to eligible juniors and seniors in September with an induction ceremony occurring in early October. Emails will be forth coming for those.

Location of meetings:

  • Meetings are held every other Tuesday during high school lunch in room 218 (Miss Knight’s room). These meeting days and frequencies are subject to change year to year.

Grade/Eligibility Requirements:

  • 11th and 12th graders with minimal disciplinary records, and a cumulative 3.5 GPA. Students meeting requirements will be emailed an invitation to apply. If a student fails to meet these requirements throughout the year, they will be emailed a warning letter prior to having a council meeting for dismissal.

Cost/Fee (if any):

  • New members must pay a $10 one time fee to cover induction costs, pins, and cords.

Other information for parents/students to know:

  • Students will not be invited to apply if they were in NHS the prior year and have maintained a stellar academic record with minimal discipline issues.
