Pottstown, PA - The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 12 2020 Chorus Fest included four of Renaissance Academy's Elementary Choir members. Choir Directors from 35 participating District 12 Elementary schools selected student singers to perform at the musical concert.

Mrs. Eileen Keller, Renaissance Academy's Elementary Choir Director prepared 5th graders Tatiana Morinelli, Lucy DeLeonMarroquin along with 6th graders Allison Walsh and Aniya Jones for the event. Together, they attended the District 12 Chorus Festival on Thursday, February 13, 2020, which was held at Owen J. Roberts High School. Pottstown, PA.

In order to prepare for the festival, our singers practiced during their lunchtime and outside of school. The four girls worked on eight different choral pieces, which included a piece in French, one in German, and one in Swahili.

During the Chorus Fest, the young singers spent the day working with guest conductor, Debra Arnold who is the Children's Choir Director at the University of Delaware. The group enjoyed meeting choral singers from other schools, learning new vocal techniques, and performing a concert for their families and friends in the evening.
