The 8th annual Rotary Club of Phoenixville* Spelling Bee took place this past Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at the Phoenixville Area Middle School. Twenty-three RA students participated in the event, each doing an impressive job competing and representing their school well in the process.
Ajay Ganesh was the star of the day, winning 1st place in Division IV (5th & 6th graders) against some very tough competition. Last year, Ajay won the third grade division and was very excited to keep his winning streak alive.
As a Division Winner, Ajay received a $50 gift card and a trophy (pictured left). Additionally, Saturday was also Ajay's birthday, so he had a lot to celebrate!
*Rotary International is a not-for-profit corporation, whose main objective is service - in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. The Rotary Club of Phoenixville focuses on developing service projects to support the local community and educational initiatives for the local youth. All proceeds raised from this event are donated back to the Phoenixville area community.
