Atglen, PA -- On Friday, January 24th, three students from the Renaissance Academy (RA) performed at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Band Fest 2020. These young RA musicians included Emily Krueger, trumpet; Sophia Marchionne, flute; and Even Long, trumpet. (pictured left)

Back in October 2019, RA’s Elementary Band Director, Armon Raygani nominated musicians for this concert. The Band Fest committee then made their selection from all 5th and 6th grade band nominees in Chester County, including public, private and charter schools.

After arriving at Octoarora High School, the student completed a ten-hour day of rehearsal that culminated in a final performance in front of concert ticket holders from the community. The play list was comprised of middle school and elementary level band music including songs like "Jungle Dance," "Down in the River," and "Kingsfold."

Mr. Raygani said that he was impressed by the dedication and poise shown by these students. “Over the past few months, they attended extra rehearsals during the school day, then practiced this music over winter break to get ready for the performance. It was exciting to watch them perform at the concert and they truly crushed it!”
