Screwball with the RA Audience

Phoenixville, PA –Today, the RA students were visited by the Fightin’ Phils’ mascot, Screwball and other special guests from the RA sponsored “Crazy About Reading” program. Students K-4 received a bookmark which is redeemable for the admission to the “Crazy About Reading” game on Sunday, July 14th, 2019.

This game, during which the Fighin’ Phils will take on the Trenton Thunder, will begin at 5:15pm.. Come early at 4:00 and enjoy a “Crazy About Reading” presentation by a rostered Fightin’ Phils player and the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor himself. It is also the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor’s Birthday Party and he will be signing free autographs during the game. Pre-game activities will also include a Kids Magic Show at 3:30pm and a Community Music Showcase. There is 1 free hot dog for all fans; all fans get to run the bases; a free Kinetic Sand Play Area Interactive Display for Kids; and it is “Bring Your Dog to the Game” day promoted by the PA Humane Society.

Anthony Pignetti, Executive Director of Business Development for the Reading Fightin Phils, said that that he always looks forward to the Crazy About Reading games which are often on of the team’s biggest attendance days of the year. “Without great partners like Renaissance Academy Charter School, it would not be possible to host the many great events that we have here at FirstEnergy Stadium, which reaches over 25,000 local children, families, teachers, and volunteers in our community!”

Renaissance Academy is the sole sponsor of the "Crazy About Reading" program.  The purpose of the program is to promote reading to students throughout the community by having children read at least 15 minutes each day.

We hope to see many of our RA families at the park on July 14th!
